Krista Miller Ochenjele, violin | Megan Miller Goff, violin
Therese Miller, viola | Leah Miller, cello

We became involved in music more than sixteen years ago, when Megan, at age seven, began walking over
to our grandma’s house for piano lessons. Each of us younger girls began taking piano lessons soon after
as well. All of us begged to quit at some point in those early years, but our parents made us stick with
it during the difficult times and we are so grateful. It’s not that our parents set out for all their
daughters to have a quartet, or even to become great musicians. But more important than that, was that
they wanted us to be excellent in whatever we did. The Bible verse, “Whatsoever you do, do it heartily
as unto the Lord,” was often quoted to us when practice time rolled around.

When we were a little older, we began studying our individual string instruments and in 2002, we formed
Eden String Quartet. As my parents encouraged us to pursue excellence, the opportunities for our quartet
just seemed to grow. We have had great teachers over the years, including members of the St. Louis and
Dallas Symphonies, the Pacifica Quartet and graduates of the Juilliard School of Music.

There is nothing better than making music as four sisters. We always have a great time together and love
being able to spend many hours practicing and performing together. Of course, our lives don’t only take
us to practice rooms and concert halls; we have been raised on a grain and cattle farm, and our parents
took the opportunity to teach us the value of hard work through hot, sometimes disgusting farm jobs.
We always tried to escape bedding down barns or driving tractors for the comparative luxury of practicing.
There have been a couple of times when we have bailed hay all day, then donned formals and gone off to a
performance that evening!

While music plays a prominent role in our lives, there is nothing more important to us than faith and family.
It is our desire to perform and record music that is worshipful and honoring to God. May you experience the
“peace of God that passes all understanding” through this music.
